Based on Microsoft® .NET architecture, Pertinence Suite is a thin client, web-based solution. Using portal technology, users familiar with Internet Explorer® on the shop floor or anywhere else in the organization, can access the entire Suite*. A Web based framework also allows for a virtually unlimited number of workstations.
* Note to process engineers: Due to computationally data intensive algorithms and advanced graphics, Process Rules Discovery executes on a full client.
Interim’s Advanced Integration Services (AIS) layer is designed as service oriented architecture (SOA) for integration of the Suite to other, complementary applications. AIS allows maximum flexibility and interoperability within and outside the enterprise.
The typical architecture for the Pertinence Suite:
Scalability
By supporting industry standard, load-balancing network architectures, Pertinence Suite can accommodate dozens or even hundreds of users without compromising performance. Running in a web farm environment ensures maximum performance and reliability regardless of the volume of server traffic.
The mobile workforce
We know that many tasks are performed away from a computer. Users working in tight quarters, high off the ground or in places where a standard PC isn’t accessible, can access Pertinence Suite from a variety of portable devices.
Any Tablet PC which supports Internet Explorer® technology can run the system. Whether collecting data, logging a buyoff, or confirming authorization, the full range of the Suite’s capabilities are as mobile as the user.
The benefits of COTS
Pertinence Suite is a COTS (Commercial-off-the-shelf) software system. COTS is a term for software products that are ready-made and available for shipment to customers. With reduced development costs, Pertinence Suite often replaces in-house or one-off systems which are very expensive both to develop and maintain.
Another benefit of using a COTS system concerns upgrades. Intercim customers receive regular upgrades that contain functional and/or performance enhancements at no additional cost. Custom coded systems cannot receive these upgrades which means new functionality requiring additional programming.
Configured, not programmed
Intercim has long been committed to content and navigation configurability. A highly configured product requires no coding, yet allows users to customize the system to match their own particular processes.
Because Pertinence Suite is configurable, it is also highly adaptive. Future changes to your process or upgrades in software do not require custom code changes to your IT systems. And because the configuration process is based on “best practice” manufacturing, it’s the closest thing to a custom-designed solution on the market.
Simplified integration
Pertinence Suite integrates with all legacy enterprise systems even if standard integration has been designed for SAP or Dassault Systèmes.
Pertinence Suite simplifies communications between engineering, production operations, ERP systems and across the supply chain. This interoperability allows users across the enterprise to see real-time status and build information from the shop floor, product lifecycle management (PLM) and other business systems. The Suite is fully compliant with ISA-95 and ISA-88 integration standards.

Intercim has thoroughly researched and tested every technology utilized to ensure performance, reliability and ease of use.
